the scene
New York City, NY, USA
This is where I spend most of the year, slaving away at Columbia and enjoying the city life. New York is a slight weather improvement from my last residence (if you can believe it!) and where I finally gained the independence I so deserved. As much I want it, I have sadly yet to have a major celebrity sighting.
Montreal, QC, Canada
Located at the epicenter of La Belle Province, this city (the best city in the world, really) is where I spent my formative years. It’s a city that’s culturally vibrant, ethnically diverse, and European in lifestyle. Ultimately, it’s a city that has been oh-so-good to me.
Shanghai, China
The motherland! My birthplace, listed officially as my ‘hometown’ on my passport. Shanghai is what probably made me a city girl at heart and gave me that sassy Shanghai-nese attitude. (And yes, I speak Shanghainese fluently.)
France
Amboise, Orleans, Tours, Chenonceau, Arcachon, Montpellier, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Aix-en-Provence, Marseille, Saint-Raphael, La Ciotat, Cannes, Nice, Chamonix, Lyon, Strasbourg, Reims, and finally Paris (my least favourite French city). I spent three weeks of the Summer 2007 and subsequently left my heart on a whirlwind Romance tour of France with Big D.
Beijing, China
One of my favourite Chinese cities, filled with the hustle and bustle so typical to anything Chinese. This is where I spent the bulk of my summer of 2008, where I enjoyed learning the language (daily quizzes!), eating tons of food (yum!), watching the Olympics (go team go!) and hooking up (!).
